The Senior Engineer will utilize their software development background and strong analytical skills to help build and enhance Accertify’s industry-leading fraud protection platform and products, which are used by the world's largest brands. This individual’s day-to-day work will involve the use of Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL, Linux, git, and gradle to design and build software solutions that are fast, scalable, and flexible.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work with business representatives, Lead Developers, and the Director of Software Development to design, build, and test new products and features
  • Use IntelliJ to write code in Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Work independently or on small team projects
  • Participate in requirement gathering and design sessions
  • Participate in peer code reviews
  • Troubleshoot and optimize code for usability, performance, and scalability
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Very strong and validated analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • High-volume transactional environment experience
  • Three years of related software development experience as a Java developer
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer using the Spring Boot framework 
  • Excellent JavaScript skills using JavaScript ES6
  • A confirmed understanding of "how things work" in the world of computers, the Internet, databases, and the Java programming language
  • Familiarity with basic programming constructs (conditionals, loops, data structures)
  • Strong Relational database skills (SQL, JDBC – Oracle, MySQL, or Postgres preferred), NoSQL databases, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize slower queries
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to modern front-end technologies - CSS, AngularJS, Bootstrap
  • Linux, macOS, HTML5, SpringMVC, and Git
  • Familiar with Gradle/dependency libraries such as Spring Data, Hibernate, JDBC, Redis, Drools, Cryptography, Scylla DB Cassandara/AWS Keyspaces or S3, and Kafka is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is strongly preferred
Additional Details: 
  • Potential salary range: $110,000-150,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
  • This remote position is exclusive to candidates located in California, with the expectation of commuting to our Long Beach or Downtown LA, locations for on-site team meetings as needed. An on-site interview will be part of the selection process.
  • Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work in the U.S. is required, as Accertify will not pursue Visa sponsorship for this position.
